Position Overview

Leading Edge National Staffing is currently hiring an experienced Welder – Parts for a manufacturing opportunity in Mississauga, ON. The successful candidate will be responsible for fitting, positioning, welding, and assembling parts and components while maintaining production and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications.
• Fit components into fixtures and manually measure special parts.
• Weld and assemble parts and components using MIG welding equipment.
• Read and understand work orders and specifications.
• Read blueprints to determine required welds with minimal guidance.
• Use gauges, jigs, fixtures, grinders, calipers, rulers, and other measuring tools.
• Set equipment for different materials and thicknesses.
• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets specifications and quality requirements.
• Perform basic machine lubrication and maintenance.
• Work across different welding benches as required.
• Meet production schedules and output requirements.
• Complete required documentation and barcode scanning.
• Assist with training new employees to established standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area following 6S practices.

Qualifications

• Valid welding certification is mandatory.
• Minimum Grade 12 education.
• Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools.
• Ability to complete daily crane inspections.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills.
• Previous manufacturing, industry, or assembly-line experience is an asset.
• Overhead crane and lifting attachment/chain experience is an asset.
